Founder's View

Before the days of smart phones, gps and minivans, it was me, my dad, his '84 Ford Econoline conversion van and a map. The map outlined how we were going to get from our home in Baltimore, Md to my grandfathers house in Dillon, SC.. I was always excited to take a trip. The highways and roads lay before me. My destination in my hand. I know where I am going and I have the tools to get there.

Today I often travel with my own family, preferring the open road as our means to transportation. On one of our drives my daughter, maybe eight at the time, asked "Where are we?" And I thought to myself, 'look up and look around'. It was great that she asked a question, but I also wanted her to look around, read and take note of her surroundings.

It's important that our girls are encouraged to pick up their heads and look at the world and people around them. I believe our girls need to be as bold as they are beautiful.  Our girls need to see and be seen. Explore the world before you and let the world know that you are here. Our girls need to know where they are, where they been, where they are going and how to get there. These thoughts led me to form Girls Love Adventure & Maps. In this group, girls map out there destination, chronicle there adventure and live life through experiences.
